Providence Health & Services Nurse Technician in Spokane, Washington
Providence is calling a Nurse Technician (8-20 hours per week, variable shift) to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center and Children’s Hospital in Spokane, Washington. Must be a currentRN-BSN Student at an accredited partner university
Individuals who currently hold a nursinglicense are not eligible for this program
In this position youwill:
Work 8-20 hours per week, while in school and up to 36hours when school is not in-session.
Participate in all aspects of the nursing care processunder the guidance of the registered nurse and within the scope of thenurse technician’s education.
Perform nursing procedures as assigned and as trained
Actively assists in evaluation/updating the patient’splan of care by reviewing subjective and objective data and accuratelydocumenting the updates on the care plan. Update the plan of care incollaboration with the RN and other team members.
Documents accurately, promptly and appropriatelyaccording to hospital policy. Utilizes hospital electronic medical recordsystems as trained.
Effectively assists in the identification of educationaland emotional needs of the patient and/or family.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Mustbe currently enrolled and in good standing in an approved BSN nursing programapproved by the Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission, Washington StateDepartment of Health; or other state nursing approval body for out of stateresidents
Writtendocumentation is required from the approved nursing program of the currentlevel of educational preparation and an assessment of the knowledge and skillsof the individual
Musthave completed one academic term which includes a clinical medical/surgicalrotation
CurrentWA State Nursing Technician Registration
CurrentHealthcare Provider BLS as certified by the American Heart Association
Abilityto work independently
Proficiencyin speaking and writing English
Mustcomplete a formal generic and on-unit orientation including skills checklistand medication test
