In this position you will:
Plan, organize, direct, and monitor the comprehensive preparation, and production of food to patients and patrons of Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center (PSHMC).
Coordinate all food and supply purchases and evaluates new products that will result in maintaining and improving the quality of food service within budgetary guidelines.
Provides ongoing in service education needs for food production staff. Oversees training and evaluates the work performance of all food production staff. Enforces departmental standards, safety operations, sanitation and care of equipment, particularly as it applies to food production and safe food handling.
Assists the director in the budget preparation and management for the department pertinent to areas of accountability as indicated. Participates in the ongoing process of budgetary status relative to daily operationsimpact.
Provides ongoing assessment of guest food service quality and costs; monitors customer satisfaction and utilizes acquired information to constantly improve services provided to all guests/services. Collaborates with the Café Manager to make timely changes in the menus provided for all customers to assure continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. Continually evaluates current menu against market trends and strives to maintain a constant level of market competitiveness relative to budgetary and customer-related preferences.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Three years institutional buying and menu planning
Ability to use a personal computer and applicable systems software such as Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred active member of the local Dietetic Association or Culinary Association
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Two (2) year associate degree in business, dietetics, or related field, or Chef certification
Five years experience in a medium to large volume institutional kitchen preferred. Hospital experience
Five years supervisory experience for at least 12 employees
Creative menu design and implementation
Current retail experience
