Robert Half Finance & Accounting director of revenue cycle management in Spokane, Washington

POSITION SUMMARY: The director of revenue cycle management is responsible for all aspects of revenue including billing, accounts receivable and collections. The cycle manager works closely with operations, finance and IT to manage the monthly revenue process, improve the revenue process, ensure reporting is accurate and that revenue complies with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in a multi-state organization in the health care industry. High degree of professionalism and ability to manage multiple product lines with different systems. Ability to assist with documentation of processes, identify and implement improvement initiatives including complete systems implementations. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in math, accounting, business administration or equivalent business experience and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in billing services will be considered.

  • Previous management experience required.

  • Five or more years of recent medical billing experience with knowledge of current trends in Medicaid and commercial insurance areas. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS: Include the following other duties may be assigned.

  • Drive strategic initiatives for the department, establish goals, manage progress

  • Direct and indirect supervision of staff

  • Provide value added analysis of revenue, payer mix, contract variance and other

  • Operations involvement – strive for greater involvement in operations processes that lead to billing efficiencies. Three general service offerings in employment, residential, behavior in addition to organic growth initiatives

  • Contract negotiations with commercial payers

  • Administrative Supervision (assess effectiveness of staff and organizational structure)

  • Overall AR aging reconciliation and Review

  • Overall bad debt reserve and analysis – Personal involvement in unpaid claims escalated to director

  • Process documentation and driving improvements through systems implementation and change management

  • Due diligence support and integration management for acquired businesses

  • High level of involvement in EHR and billing system Implementation

  • Coordination with all operations to build on company-wide best practices.

  • Establish and maintain Revenue Recognition policies

  • Maintain relationships with large and/or difficult payers partnering with operations management

  • Support and participate in program and financial audits

  • Must possess a deep understanding of finances and knowledge software for billing/collections

  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems

  • Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills; strong time management and project management skills; ability to establish work priorities and to work independently

  • Must have demonstrated proficiency in all MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Power Point and Billing Software experience

  • Must be able to satisfactorily pass drug-screening test upon offer and continue to pass comply with drug free workplace policies
