Avidex AV Field Engineer – Level 2 in Spokane, Washington


Avidex is looking for an AV Field Engineer in Spokane, WA who will work closely with the Project and Design Engineers providing engineering, technical, programming and post-installation support. Job responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide field engineering support to the project team utilizing a combined skill set of engineering, equipment configuration, programming, troubleshooting and documentation
  • Provide complete support for Extron, SP control systems and basic support for AMX and Crestron products
  • Ensure each system's physical completeness is in accordance with contract documents
  • Maintain an on-going dialog with the project team during the job commissioning phase to ensure the system's quality and performance meet the job requirements
  • Provide system testing, commissioning and prepare punch lists
  • Perform required testing and checkout procedures and assemble the results per the specifications on projects requiring specific test procedures and submittals
  • Provide system training for the owner as needed
  • Assist with project closeout and take the appropriate steps and measures to assure final acceptance by the customer
  • Ensure accurate document markups are produced and turned into the Project Lead/Supervisor in a timely manner

* *Desired Skills and Experience

  • Must have Infocomm CTS
  • Must have basic knowledge of C++ type of programming, RS 232/422 protocol and graphics editing. Java and HTML programming experience is a plus
  • Must have experience loading and retrieving Crestron/AMX code
  • Must have experience programming Extron and SP control systems
  • Must have basic Crestron and/or AMX Certification
  • Must have intermediate knowledge of setting up audio and video conferencing systems including adjusting common audio equipment and video display systems
  • Must have intermediate knowledge about configuring wired or wireless TCP/IP networks
  • Must be willing to learn and advance your skills and knowledge in the AV/IT engineering, design and programming disciplines
  • Work sites vary from finished executive boardrooms to new construction. Majority of work is indoors but site conditions can vary drastically. Appropriate dress is required.
  • Mobility including walking, driving, lifting, carrying, standing, kneeling, crouching for long periods of time, working in high spaces as well as small cramped spaces
  • Must be able to work before and after normal work hours including overtime with little to no advance notice, weekends and travel ranging from one night to several weeks away
  • Must be able to comply with company's driving policy

*Education: *Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in the AV/IT industry

Experience: 4+ years' experience providing AV/IT Field Engineering support

Computer Experience: Excellent computer skills including proficiency using Windows and Apple software
